Purchase Orders totaling $100,000 were recently released for the acquisition of new metal
treatment and gas analyzing equipment. Although this equipment has been available in Europe
since 2005, EBA will be the first foundry in the US to obtain this technology. While taking three to four readings per second, the new testing equipment will provide real time analysis of gas levels in molten aluminum. This equipment will also communicate with a new automated
degassing unit allowing us to achieve optimum gas levels regardless of raw materials or
atmospheric conditions.
The gas analyzation equipment arrived in early December and is being used to establish real time baseline gas levels. The automated degassing component will arrive in March and the entire unit will be operational by the end of the first quarter.
