Automatic Molding Line
Our automatic molding line begins with an all new sand delivery system. This system is centered by a Hartley Compactibility Controller which will ensure consistency from mold to mold. The sand system feeds our new Harrison Modified N-28 automatic molding machine. The Harrison produces a 26” x 26” flaskless mold. The molding line is supported by a complete mold handler and shake out system designed and installed by Summit Foundry Systems. Although capable of making castings weighing from .25 pound up to 100 pounds, the majority of the castings coming off this machine will weigh between 3 and 20 pounds.
Cope and Drag Line
Casting requirements that are too large for our Automatic Molding Line can be produced on our traditional Cope and Drag line. This line makes tight flask molds in both 26” x 26” and a larger 36” x 36” cross-section. The height of the molds can vary based on the customers need. Typical casting weights for this line run from 20 to 500 pounds.
Melting
Our bronze foundry has 7 electric furnaces ranging from 1000 to 2000 pounds in melting capacity. Please visit our “Alloys” section to review the more popular non-leaded bronze alloys we currently pour. In addition, we have the technology to work with our customers to pour or develop any copper based alloys they may need.
Finishing
All castings are cut off, ground and blasted in our cleaning department. For those orders requiring physical properties, separate test bars are poured along with the castings. The test bars are machined and pulled in our in-house lab. Orders requiring heat treatment, LPI, X-ray or machining are sent to qualified outside sources.
